Jamaat won’t be allowed to hold rally: Police

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will not allow Jamaat-e-Islami to hold its rally at Shapla Chattar in the capital’s Motijheel area on October 28.
DMP Joint Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarkar announced this at a press conference on Thursday.
“Jamaat-e-Islami is an anti-liberation party, many of its leaders are convicted war criminals and it is not now a registered party, so they will not get permission to hold a rally,” he said.
Jamaat-e-Islami has announced that it will hold its rally at Shapla Chattar in the capital's Motijheel area on October 28.
In a virtual press conference, Jamaat acting Amir Mujibur Rahman asked the party leaders and activists not to be misguided by the ‘provocative, undemocratic and unconstitutional’ directives by the government.
