Regent Chairman’s aide put on 5-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed Chairman Shahed’s aide Tariqul Islam alias Tarek Shibli on five-day remand in a case filed for making false coronavirus test reports and extorting large sums of money from Covid patients.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan passed the order on Friday (July 10).

Earlier, Inspector Md Alamgir Gazi of Uttara East police station and also investigation officer of this case produced the accused before the court seeking seven days remand.

On Thursday (July 9), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested him from Nakhalpara area in the capital. A total of eight persons were arrested in the case so far.
