Deepika, Ranveer announce to become parents

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, who married in 2018 after dating for six years, are expecting their first child.

On Thursday (February 29), Deepika and Ranveer announced the news of her pregnancy on Instagram. They wrote their baby was arriving in September 2024.

Recently, a source had told The Week that Deepika is currently in her second trimester and is soon expected to make the official announcement. The couple has now confirmed the news.

Speculations started after she allegedly tried to hide her stomach on the 77th BAFTA red carpet in London. She donned a stunning shimmery saree and custom jewellery by Sabyasachi Mukherjee for the awards ceremony.

Industry colleagues, including Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Shreya Ghoshal, Vikrant Massey, and Alia Bhatt congratulated the couple on the good news. "Mubarak," wrote Priyanka in the comments section of Deepika-Ranveer's post.

Alia shared a series of heart emojis in the comments. Shreya Ghoshal said she was both excited and happy for the couple. "Many congratulations," she added.

"Bahut bahut shubhkamnaen aap dono ko!!" wrote Vikrant.

Deepika and Ranveer, both 38, tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony in 2018 at Lake Como, Italy.
