Onions from India will arrive in Dhaka within 3 days: State Minister

State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu has said that onions from India will arrive by train in Dhaka within the next three days.

The state minister said this at a reception for the state minister and all the MPs, and an introductory meeting with active members of the Press Club organized by the Tangail Press Club on Saturday afternoon.

“Onions will reach Dhaka within three days. There will be no problem. The market will move at its own pace. The market is under our monitoring. Necessary actions will be taken against anyone hoarding onions”, he said.

“The ministry of commerce does not require police or magisterial actions for normal market transactions,” he said.

He expressed confidence that there is an adequate supply of onions in the market, and prices are currently at reasonable levels.
