Heatwave alert issued for 48 hours in 5 divisions

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued fresh heatwave alert message for five divisions for the next 48 hours.

The alert was issued on Wednesday evening (May 15).

The divisions are - Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Dhaka and Barishal.

According to the Meteorological Department, due to the increase of moisture incursion, the discomfort may continue.

Meteorologist Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallick said that the heatwave was sweeping over south-western regions of the country until Tuesday. But except a few areas of Chattogram division, mild to moderate heatwave swept over across the country. That is why the heatwave alert has been issued.
