Court Correspondent: The International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2) will deliver its verdict of war crimes cases against Jamaat-e-Islami leader Abdus Subhan tomorrow (Wednesday).
A three-member bench led by ICT-2 Chairman Justice Obaidul Hasan fixed date for verdict announcement on Tuesday.
Earlier on December 4 last year, the court kept the cases on CAV [Curia advisari vult, a Latin legal term meaning the court would consider the matter] after concluding hearing arguments.
The prosecution started to place arguments of the trial, on November 5, and finished it on November 17 last year.
Subhan, a nayeb-e-ameer of Jamaat, faces nine charges including genocide committed in Pabna during the liberation war in 1971.
According to the prosecution, Subhan was the ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Pabna unit in 1971. He was also the general secretary of Pabna Peace Committee, an anti-liberation organisation, and later became the vice-chairman of the committee in 1971.
