Bangladesh goes into fresh lockdown from April 5

The government has imposed a fresh lockdown for one week across the country from Monday (April 5) as coronavirus infection has increased.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader confirmed the matter on Saturday (April 3).

After the first corona patient was identified in Bangladesh on March 6 last year, the Department of Health announced the first death on March 16.

The first case of COVID-19 was reported in Bangladesh on March 8, 2020, and the source of the outbreak has been linked to a wet market in Wuhan (China).  Later, the government announced general holiday on March 23.

Cases of the virus have been confirmed in numerous countries and territories worldwide. Virus-screening and quarantining measures are being implemented at airports worldwide, as well as extensive travel restrictions.
