We understand loss of war and conflict, please stop it: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the world leaders to stop Russia-Ukraine war, saying “We understand the damage of war and conflict, please stop it.”

The premier made the urge while addressing ‘The International Women Peace and Security Seminar-2022” at Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment on Monday (November 28) morning.

She said any conflict in any country can be resolved through dialogue and political discussion. We do not want any war. We do not want any people to become refugees. Because I have all the experience.

The Prime Minister said without empowerment, the position of women in the society will not improve and their plight increases manifold during any conflict and disaster.

She said It is unquestionable that women are the most vulnerable section of society, especially in third world countries. They are victims of various forms of violence, malnutrition, illiteracy and deprivation in terms of other basic needs. During any conflict and calamity, their plight increases manifold.
