Bangladesh emerge champions beating India in tiebreaker

Bangladesh emerged champions securing the SAFF U-16 Women’s Championship 2024 title after beating India 3-2 in tiebreaker in the final held at ANFA Complex in Kathmandu, Nepal on Sunday (March 10).

Goalkeeper Yearzan Begum saved three shots from the opponents to seal a memorable victory of 3-2 goals after the game finished with 1-1 goals in the fixed time.

Earlier in the first half, India took the lead, however, Mariam Binta Hanna struck in the 70th minute to level the game. After that, both teams tried hard to find the net of their opponents but were denied by each team’s defenders.

Earlier, Bangladesh kicked off the four-nation competition with a 2-0 win over hosts Nepal before beating India (3-1) and Bhutan (6-0) in the following matches to emerge group winner.
