10 BNP men held in Khulna

Staff Correspondent, Khulna:  Police have arrested ten leaders and activists of BNP including Koyra upazila unit president and Paikgachha unit convener.

They were arrested on Saturday night from a house at Choukuni village under Koyra upazila.

The detainees are: Koyra upazila BNP president Advocate Momrejul Islam, Paikgachha upazila BNP convener Dr. Abdul Majid Gazi, Paikgachha municipal BNP president Advocate A Sattar, BNP leader Azizul Bari Helal's brother Jahidul Bari Rony, BNP leader and former UP chairman Shahadat Hossain Dablu, Kazi Habibur Rahman Ritu, Bikash Mitra, Israfil Hossain, Tajuddin Ahmed and Arif Sheikh.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Koyra Thana Enamul Haque said they were holding a secret meeting in the house of Maheshwaripur Union General Secretary Rafiqul Islam.

However, General Secretary of Koyra upazila BNP Nurul Amin Babul claimed that the detainees took part in a dinar party at the house of Maheshwaripur union BNP secretary.
