Sylhet Correspondent: Boro crops and vegetables of 64,454 out of 83,065 hectares of cultivable land in Sylhet have gone under water due to flashflood and heavy rain, leaving around 10 lakh people damaged.
Md Rahat Anwar, deputy commissioner of Sylhet, disclosed the figure at a press conference on Wednesday noon.
4,900 metric tonnes of rice and TK 7.5 crore have been allotted for the damaged people, he told the press conference.
He said 47,250 damaged farmer families and 2,750 fishing families in 13 upazilas will be provided with vulnerable group feeding (VGF) cards through upazila nirbahi officer (UNO).
