15 including Upazila Jamaat ameer held in Laxmipur

Laxmipur Correspondent: Police detained 15 member of Jamaat-e-Islami, including its Kamalnagar upazila unit ameer and upazila vice chairman, while they were holding a clandestine meeting on Monday morning.

Police detained them around 8.30am from a house near the residence of upazila vice chairman in Hazirhat-Matabbar road area.

Confirming the matter Kamalnagar Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akul Chandro Biswas said about 35/40 Jamaat men were holding a clandestine meeting. Acting on a tip off, a police team conducted a drive there. Police detained 15 from the spot and others managed to flee there.

Police also recovered five motorcycles, leaflets and books from the spot.
