2 ‘dacoits’ killed in Monirampur

Staff Correspondent, Jashore:  Two suspected robbers were killed in a ‘gunfight’ between two groups of robbers on Pulerhat-Rajganj road in Gangulia Jamtola area of Monirampur upazila on Monday night.

The dead were aged between 55 and 45 and have yet to be identified. One of the dead was wearing a shirt and trousers while the other was in lungi and a shirt.

Hearing gunshots, sub-inspector Ainuddin, in-charge of Khedapara police camp, went to the spot and found two bodies, said Mokarram Hossain, officer-in-charge of Monirampur police station.

Later, the bodies were recovered around 6:00am and sent those to local hospital morgue for autopsy.

Sharp weapons and ropes were recovered from the scene, the OC said.
