2 die after eating ‘patka fish’ in Mirsarai

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: Two people died and five others fell sick reportedly after eating puffer fish, locally known as pakta fish, at Mirsarai upazila in the district on Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Fazila Khatun, 60, and her granddaughter Morium Akhter (3).

According to sources, seven members of a family fell sick at night after eating puffer fish and they were taken to Mirsarai Upazila Health Complex where two died there.

Five others have been taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
