2 of a bridal party killed as bus plunges into pond

Shariatpur Correspondent: At least two persons were killed and 30 other were injured a bus carrying bridal party members plunged into a roadside pond on Tuesday noon.

The accident took place near Bhadurikandi Bridge at Dhankati union under Damuda upazila of Shariatpur district.

The deceased were identified as Rubel Bepari, 18, son of Monir Bepari at Biswaskandi village of Dhankati union, and Tajul Sikder, 20, son of Selim Sikder of the same village.

The injured have been admitted to the Damuda Upazila Health Complex.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Damuda Police Station Mahbul Alam Chowdhury said the Damuda fire service, police and local people are trying to rescue the bus from the pond.
