Two robbers killed in Kushtia gunfight

Kushtia Correspondent: Two suspected robbers were killed in a gunfight with police in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia early Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Mofazzel Hossain alias Mufa, 42, son of Moser Uddin, hailed from Gorora village and Mahabul Islam, 40, son of Abdur Rahim, hailed from Koipala in Daulatpur upazila.

Md, Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Daulatpur Police Station said, on information that some robbers locked into a clash following their internal conflict at Katdah field area, a team of police raided the area. Sensing presence of police, the alleged robbers fired gunshots, forcing the law enforcers to fire back, triggering a “gunfight”.

Later, two bullet injured robbers were found in the spot. They died while undergoing treatment at Kushtia general hospital.

Two policemen also received injury during the gunfight. Meanwhile, two Light Guns, four rounds of bullets and a lethal weapon were recovered from the spot.
