25 injured in Gopalganj clash

Gopalganj Correspondent: At least 25 people were injured in a clash between two groups at Hiron village of the district's Kotaliparha upazila on Sunday night.

Of the injured, eight were admitted to Kotaliparha Upazila Health Complex. 

Police held 14 people for their alleged involvement in the incident.

Kamrul Faruk, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotaliparha Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said there had been a long dispute among people of Hiron village's South and North parts over establishing supremacy in the area. As sequel to that, people of both groups locked into a clash, leaving at least 25 injured. 

After the incident, 14 people who were allegedly involved in the clash were held conducting a drive in the village, he added.
