3 killed in Rangpur road crash

Staff Correspondent: Three people were killed and 10 others injured in a road accident in Taraganj upazila of Rangpur.

The incident took place near Taraganj Upazila Health Complex early Friday.

The deceased were identified as supervisor of Hanif Enterprise Ruhul Amin, 38, of Domar upazila in Nilphamari; its helper Motaleb, 40, of Mirzapur area in Tangail and passenger Nayon Roy, 22, of Thakurgaon district.

Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Taraganj Highway Police Station Abdullah Hel Baki said a Dhaka-bound bus of Hanif Enterprise hit another bus, which was standing aside to repair its tyre, leaving three people dead on the spot and 10 others injured.

On information, the police and the fire service officials rushed to the spot and took the injured people to Taraganj Upazila Health Complex, the OC said.
