3 minors of a family drown in Ctg pond

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Three children of a family drowned at a pond in Boalkhali upazila of Chittagong.

The incident took place at Bha Fakir Mazaar area in Sripur Kharandip union of the upazila around 3:00pm on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Sanam and Seher, three-year old daughters of expatriate Md Harun and Anzu, 3, daughter of Harun’s brother Farukh. Farukh is a day labourer.

Local union parishad member Md Ali said all members of the family fell asleep after having launch while the three children were playing. The family members did not find their children after getting up from sleep and then started searching them.

At one stage, they found their children floating at a pond behind a house and recovered them. Later, the children were rushed to upazila health complex where duty doctor declared them dead.

Md Babor, sub-assistant community medical officer of the upazila health complex, confirmed the news.
