30-km tailback at Daudkandi on Dhaka-Ctg highway

Cumilla Correspondent: A 30-kilomerter long tailback created at Daudkandi part on Dhaka-Chattogram highway on Tuesday.

The traffic gridlock, which ensued from Daudkandi brige area on Sunday noon, reached till Chandina Madhaiya on Tuesday noon.

A long tailback also created at Meghna-Gomati bridge at Gazaria of Munshiganj and Narayanganj Meghna bridge area.

The commuters on the route have been suffering immensely as they had to wait 7 or 8 hours for 10-minit journey.

Many of the passengers and drivers had been fallen sick due to the traffic congestion. Many of the passengers were also seen to walk on foot for 10 to 15 kilometers.

Mohidul Islam, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Daudkandi circle) in Cumilla, said excessive transport pressure caused the tailback. The district and Highway police are active to clear the traffic congestion.
