34 Malaysia-bound Rohingyas rescued in Cox’s Bazar

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Police has detained 34 Rohingyas while they were trying to go to Malaysia through the Bay of Bengal.

Officer-in-Charge of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Thana Farid Uddin Khandokar said they were detained from Dariyannagar Barochhara area of the town on Tuesday midnight.

The detainees include 11 men, 15 women and 8 children. They were living at refugee camps in the district.

During interrogation, the detainees told police that they went to Malaysia with the help of brokers by sea routes.

Recently, the trend of Rohingyas' going to Malaysia by sea routes has increased.
