4 JMB members held in Gazipur

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-1 in a drive have arrested four members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Joydebpur area of Gazipur city.

The arrestees are identified as Md Juwel Hussain, 25, son of Shahjalal, Afjal Hossain, 38, son of late Nurul Islam Mandal, Jahirul Haque Jahir, 34, son of Abu Sayed Mandal and Abdul Halim, 32, son of Saleh Talukdar.

A press release issued on Tuesday evening has confirmed the news.

The four JMB members were planning to carry out subversive activities at different areas in Joydebpur police station of Gazipur. On information, a team of RAB-1 conducted a drive in different areas of the police station early Tuesday and arrested them, the press release said.

The arrestees are the active members of banned militant outfit JMB, it added.
