4 killed as under construction roof collapses

Brahmanbaria Correspondent: Four labours were killed and six others were injured as an under construction roof collapsed at Bahadupur of the district's Ashuganj upazila on Monday noon.

Being informed, a unit of local fire service was conducting rescue operation at the scene while the report was filed in the evening, according to source.

The deceased were identified as Nazmul Mia, 18, of Jatrapur village of Ashuganj upazila, Mizan Mia, Dulala Mia, 50, and Abu Tayeb, 40, of Terkanda village of Sarail upazila.

Of the injured, three were admitted to a local hospital.

Witnesses said the roof of Sayera fueling staion owned by the district fertilizer association president Jalal Uddin collapsed while labours were constructing it at Bahadupur at the noon, leaving three dead on the spot and seven others injured. Another succumbed after he was taken to hospital.

Alauddin Monir, Station Officer of Ashuganj Fire Service, confirmed the toll of casualties.
