4 to die for killing child Tutul in Kishoreganj

Kishoreganj Correspondent:  Four people have been awarded with death penalty for killing child Shofikul Hasan Tutul in Pakundia Charkauna area of the district.

Kishoreganj Women and Children Repression Special Tribunal judge Md. Awlad Hossain Bhuiyan gave this verdict on Wednesday.

The convicts are Md. Sohag Mia (40), son of the late Shahed Ali at Charkauna village of Pakundia upazila, Dulal Mia (40), son of the late Abul  Karim, Dalim Mia (30), son of Borhan Uddin and Aminul Haque (27), son of Israfil.

According to the case, Tutul was a Class IV student of the local Memorial Kindergarten. On 8 August 2014, child Tutul was kidnapped on his way to school. Later, Tk 10 lakh was demanded for his release. The next day, Tutul's father Kamal Uddin filed a case with Kishoreganj Police Station. Later, the body of Tutul was recovered, and then the kidnapping case was transferred to the murder case.

On December 11 of that year, the investigation officer gave chargesheet against four people
