40 shops gutted in Tongi

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: At least 40 shops were gutted by a fire that broke out in Boubazar area in Tongi, Dhaka in early hours of Wednesday.
On information, four fire units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after three hours frantic efforts.
Atikur Rahman, senior station officer of Tongi fire service station said the fire originated from an electric short-circuit around 3:00am at the Market and it soon spread to nearby shops.
The fire gutted 40 rooms of six markets. However, no one received injury in the fire.
