41 detained in Jashore while illegally crossing border

Staff Correspondent, Jashore: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 41 people when they illegally crossed into Bangladesh from India through the Putkhali-Daulatpur border points in Jashore.

BGB members said acting on secret information that some illegal people entered into Bangladesh territory from India without passports, BGB conducted separate drives in the area. Meanwhile, the law enforcers detained 23 male, 10 female and eight children.

Confirming the matter, BGB 21 Battalion director Imran Ullah Sarkar said the detainees were handed over to Benapole port police station.
