49 arrested in Satkhira special drive

Satkhira Correspondent: Police have arrested 49 people including six BNP-Jamaat men conducting special drives across the district.

The special drives were conducted at different places under the district's eight police stations from Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning.

Law enforcers also seized some drugs during the drive.

Mizanur Rahman, Inspector of Satkhira Special Branch (SB) of Police , said 23 were arrested from Sadar Police Station, nine from Kalaroa, four from Tala, Kaliganj and Shamnagar respectively, three from Ashashuni, one from Patkelghata.

Besides, detectives also arrested a person during the drives.

All the arrestees are accused in different cases filed for subversive activities and drugs.
