5 bodies recovered in Lalmonirhat flood water

Lalmonirhat Correspondent: Bodies of five people, who drowned in the flood water while they were coming to the safe places from their homes by a raft of banana trees at Purbo Baruya village of Kulaghat union in Lalmonirhat sadar upazila on Sunday, were recovered on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Nazma Begum, 22, wife of Rabiul Islam, Rabiul's 4-year son Nazim Hossain and his brother-in-law Mozammel Hossain, 45, Alif Hosain, 7, son of Mozammel Hossain and Motaleb Hossain, 18, son of Abdul Mazid.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station Mahfuz Alam confirmed the incident.

District Council Chairman Matiar Rahman said he is inquiring about the families of the dead and the district administration has taken an initiative to give them financial help.
