5 cops closed for eve-teasing case in Khulna

Staff Correspondent: At least five cops have been closed on charge of eve-teasing a schoolgirl and beating up her brother in the district’s Batiaghata upazila.

The constables are Md Naim, Mamun, Riaz, Abir and Jahid. 

Victim’s father Mujibir Rahman alleged that his daughter is a 10th grade student of a local school. Some constables of Baintala police outpost used to harass her on way to coaching center. On Tuesday morning, his son Tariqul Islam was beat up by the policemen and took him into custody as he protested the eve teasing of his younger sister.

On information, locals encircled the police outpost and senior police officials rush to the scene to take control of the situation. Tariqul is currently undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital.

However, Khulna Superintendent of Police (SP) Nizamul Huq Molla said twelve policemen were closed to police line over the allegation.
