5 held with fake idols in Netrokona

Netrokona Correspondent: Detectives detained five fraudsters with brass made three idols from Gauripur Upazila of Mymensingh district on Saturday morning.

The detainees are identified as Gias Uddin, 50, Sohrab Mia, 30, Saiful Islam, 35, Taher, 39 and Kashem, 35.

Police sources said that acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive in the area and detained the fraudsters with three fake idols and Tk.50,000 cash.

DB police inspector Nazmul Hasan said the recovered were made of brass but the fraud gang usually sold the idols to general people terming as gold made.
