7 hawkers detained as militant suspects

Magura Correspondent:  Police has detained seven hawkers as militant suspects from the district’s Shalikha upazila.

Police detained them in a drive in the house of Farid Ahmed, 48, former secretary of Jamaat's labour affairs at Atpara on Friday night. Police also arrested the Jamaat leader.

The arrestees are Md Bachchu Mia, 40, Obaidur Rahman, 28, Abul Basar, 32, Rabiul Islam, 26, Zahidul Islam, 28, Anwar Hossain, 22, and Jahangir Hossain, 28.

All the detainees hailed from Bhanga upazila in Faridpur.
