7 held with 11 firearms in Cox's Bazar

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel on Tuesday detained seven people with 11 firearms from Gomatoli area of Pokkhani union in Cox's Bazar sadar upazila.

The detainees are- Mohammad Mubin, 37, Nurul Amin, 36, Abdur Rahman, 43, Jasim Uddin, 50, Abdur Razzak, 21, Abdur Shukkur, 67 and Helal Uddin, 40.

RAB 7 Cox's Bazar Company Commander Major Md Ruhul Amin said that acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB conducted drive in the area around 12:00pm. Meanwhile, 7-8 people tried to flee the scene. Later, the law enforcers detained them.

Following their information, 11 fire arms and some ammunition were recovered from underground.

Details will be made public later through press conference, the RAB official added.
