8 get death for businessman murder in Habiganj

Habiganj Correspondent: A Habiganj court has sentenced eight people to death and twelve others to life term imprisonment in a case filed over the murder of businessman Tipu.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Mahfuza Parvin handed down the verdict around 3:00pm on Wednesday.

Of the total 24 accused in the case, the court acquitted three people and one died during the trial.

The businessman was killed on January 7 in 2011 in Habiganj.
