8 held with arms in Chuadanga

Chuadanga Correspondent: Chuadanga District Detective Police has arrested eight people with arms and ammunition. Police claimed that they were members of the robbers.

They were arrested from Hijalgari Bazar area of Sadar upazila on Tuesday night.

Police recovered a pistol, 100 gram gun powder and bomb making equipment from them.

The arrested persons are - Korban Ali (30), son of Azibar Ali, his brother Lokman Ali (24), Tariqul Islam, (32), son of the late Jammat Ali,  Lal Chand (28), son of Afzal Mandal, Ashadul Islam's son Sohanur Rahman (25),  Azizul Islam (27), son of Kalom Ali, Abu Bakar Siddique (24), son of Alem Mondal and Shahidul Islam Sabuj (25), son of Zaminur Rahman.

Police said that two cases of robbery occurred in Andulbaria village of Jibannagar upazila of the district last night. At that time the robbers exchanged fire with policemen. Then the detective police started the operation to arrest the robbers. At one stage of the drive, they were arrested from the Hijalgari Bazar area of Sadar upazila.
