9 zebras rescued in Jashore

Staff Correspondent, Jessore: Members of the Detective Branch of police have rescued nine zebras from a cattle shed in Satmail area under Sharsha Upazila of the district.

Jashore district DB police Sub-Inspector Murad Hossain said acting on a tip-off, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of police conducted a drive in the area around 10:30am on Wednesday and recovered the zebras while being taken to India.

Meanwhile, no one claimed the ownership of the Zebras, he added.

Police also said that the animals, worth around Tk one crore, will be handed over to the authorities of Forest Department.
