ACC summons SP Subhash, his wife

Staff Correspondent: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned Superintendant of Police (SP) Subhash Chandra Saha and his wife Rina Chowdhury for interrogation about ‘undisclosed money’ of Tk 8.50 crore.

They have been asked to appear before the ACC team at its headquarters on December 13.

ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee confirmed the matter.

The ACC has found Tk 8.50 crore 'undisclosed money' in three accounts of the superintendant of police (SP) and his wife.

ACC alleged that the police official, Faridpur district SP Subhash Chandra Saha, earned the sum of money through corruption after he joined the police department.

He did not mention the sources, ownership and control of the money in his wealth statement that he submitted earlier to the commission.

Subhash's wife Rina Chowdhury also contributed to the crime by hiding it, the ACC also alleged.

According to the case details, Subhash Chandra deposited Tk 8.50 crore with three joint accounts with his spouse at Bongshal, Elephant Road and Jossore branches of One Bank Limited.

The case was filed by ACC under the Money-Laundering Prevention Act 2012.
