AL factional clash leaves 7 bullet-hit in Banshkhali

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: At least seven people sustained bullet injuries in a factional clash between two groups of the ruling Awami League (AL) in Banshkhali upazila of the district on Thursday evening.
15 other people were also injured in the clash.
The clash took place between the followers of lawmaker from Banshkhali Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury and local AL leader Abdullah Kabir Liton in municipality area.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Banshkhali Mohammad Alamgir confirmed the matter.
The bullet-hit and injured AL men have been admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
Liton, also a nephew of late AL leader Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu, was heading for a programme organised by Akhtaruzzaman Smriti Sangsad commemorating the late AL leader.
Meanwhile, followers of Mostafizur, also president of the upazila AL unit, intercepted Liton's convoy, resulting in a clash.
