AL leader killed in Tangail road crash

Staff Correspondent, Tangail: A local Awami League leader was killed and another one received injury in a road accident on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Jolfei area of the district on Friday noon.

The deceased was identified as Badal Mia, 40, son of late Jahirul Master. Badal Mia was an organizing secretary of Tangail Purbanchal.

Tangail Traffic police sergeant Rajan Dutta said the victim was heading towards his residence riding a motorcycle around 2:30pm. Meanwhile, Dhaka-bound a bus rammed the motorcycle, leaving him dead on the spot.

The bus driver fled the scene after the accident, the police added.
