AL leader sent to jail in BCL leader murder case

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: A Chattogram court Awami League (AL) leader Saber Ahmed, who main is accused of killing former BCL leader Mohiuddin Sohel, to jail.

Saber Ahmed was former councillor of the city’s Soraiparha ward.

Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Akbor Hossain  Mridha sent him to jail after rejecting his bail plea on Tuesday noon.

Defendant's lawyer Sheikh Iftekhar Saimul confirmed the matter.

According to the court sources, former Saber was on interim bail for a month. High Court ordered him to secure bail appearing before the lower court. He appeared before the court and south bail as the bail-term ended on Tuesday. But the court rejected it.
