AL man beaten to death in Rajshahi

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: An activist of Awami League was beaten to death allegedly by BNP leaders and activists in a polling center in Mohanpur upazila of Rajshahi on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Merajul Islam, 22, son of Abdus Sattar.
Assistant police super (ASP) Abdur Razzak Khan, Rajshahi district police spokesperson said, a clash took place over establishing supremacy in Pakuria High School field around 11:30am, leaving Merajul dead on the spot.
Mohanpur police station Officer-in-Charge Abul Hossain said the body was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
