‘All feats will go in vain if we do not get rid of corruption’

Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain speaking at a programme in Khulna.

Staff Correspondent, Khulna: “We cannot achieve anything if we do not get rid of corruption. All of our hard work, sacrifice, dedication and achievements will go in vain,” said Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain.

The Gono Forum president came up with the opinion while speaking on the occasion of the eighth death anniversary of Dr Md Mozaharul Islam at the auditorium of Umesh Chandra Public Library in Khulna city around 12:00pm on Saturday.

He said the word ‘Manage’ should be eliminated in establishing rule of law. Human rights, justice and good governance cannot be expected without establishing the rule of law.

Dr Mozaharul Islam Foundation and Shirley Islam Foundation jointly organised the programme with Dr Mozaharul Islam Foundation President Professor Md Mazharul Hannan in the chair.

The youths of today will have to realize that the Independence of Bangladesh has been achieved through immeasurable sacrifices, he said adding that the victory in the War of Liberation belongs to people across the country.

Pointing to the youths, he said, “First of all we all have to be human being. We must be human being. Bangladesh has a bright future. Everything will have to be on the basis of competency in the country.”

Youths will have to be uncompromising all the time on the question of principle and independence, Kamal added.
