Staff Correspondent: A court in Chattogram sent BNP leader Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury to jail after rejecting his bail petition in a case filed under ICT Act.
Metropolitan Session Judge Akbar Hossain Mridha passed the order on Sunday noon rejecting his bail petition.
Public Prosecutor Advocate Fakhruddin Chowdhury confirmed the matter.
According to the court sources, Amir Khasru surrendered before the court as his anticipatory bail granted by the High Court expired today. Later, the court sent him to jail.
Earlier, after expiry of bail on October 7, the Chattogram court extended his bail till October 21.
