Another follower arrested over killing 'Pir'

Rangpur Correspondent: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested another follower over killing so-called Pir (spiritual leader) in Dinajpur.

The arrestee was identified as Shafiqul Islam Babu, 28, son of Azim Uddin Shah of Shahparha village under Bochaganj upazila of Dinajpur.

He was arrested from Joymonirhat Bazar of Bhurungamari upazila of Kurigram on Monday morning, confirmed ATM Atiqullah, captain of RAB-13.

So called Pir Farhad Hossain along with his female domestic help Rupali was shot and chopped to death at Doula village under Bochaganj upazila in Dinajpur on March 13.

After two days of the incident, Farhad's daughter Fatia Farhana filed a case in this regard. Later, police arrested another so-called Pir Ishaq of Kurigram's Ulipur, priest Sayedul Islam and follower Samar Ali.
