Cumilla arson case: Khaleda Zia shown arrested

Cumilla Correspondent: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been shown arrested in a case of arson attack that killed eight people and injured 20 others at Chauddagram of the district.

Senior judicial magistrate Judge Mustain Billah of Cumilla passed the order on Sunday noon.

The court issued custody warrant against Khaleda Zia following the bail plea hearing.

Khaleda Zia's lawyer Kaimul Haque Ringu said that the court also fixed April 10 (Tuesday) for hearing in the case.

On February 3, 2015, eight people were killed and 20 others injured when miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at a passenger bus at Jogmohanpur in Chauddagram during the BNP-led alliance’s movement.

Later, a case was lodged with Chauddagram police station against 78 people, including former Jamaat-e-Islami MP Abdullah Mohammad Taher as prime suspect.
