'Atrocities on Rohingyas world's worst incident'

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: Terming the violence against Rohingya people in northern Rakhine State of Myanmar as the world's worst incident, Jordan’s queen Rania Al-Abdullah urged the world community to be vocal against the genocide committed by the country's army force.

The queen said this while talking to reporters after visiting Kutupalang Rohingya camp in Ukhiya of Cox's Bazar on Monday noon.

Earlier around 12:30pm, Rania Al-Abdullah paid a visit to schools set up for Rohingya children after visiting health service centers for Rohingyas, conducted by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

During the visit, she spoke to Rohingya people fleeing genocide in northern Rakhine State of Myanmar.



Rania Al-Abdullah appreciated the Bangladesh government for sheltering several lakh Rohingya people and called upon the world community to stand beside them.

Bangladesh State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam, State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki, lawmaker of Cox's Bazar Sadar constituency Saimum Sarwar Komol and other officials from Jordan embassy and international organizations were present during her visit to Rohingya camps.
