BCL, Police clash at CU

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: A faction of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) clashed with police following al clash between two groups at Chattogram University.

The clash started around 12:00pm on Sunday. The clash was going on till filling of this report.

Confirming the matter, Belal Uddin, officer-in-charge of Hathazari police station, said additional police forces were deployed in the area to bring the situation under control.



Witnesses said a faction of Bangladesh Chhatra League took position at Zero point area locking the main gate of the university. Later, a police vehicle entered into the campus through the gate. At one stage, the scuffle took place between policemen and BCL men. Meanwhile, police charged baton which triggered the clash.
