Bandarban landslide: Body of missing bank officer found

Bandarban Correspondent: A bank officer, missing from landslide in Betchhara area of the district’s Boangchhari upazila, has been found dead.

Police recovered the decomposed body of Goutam Nandi, an officer of Bangladesh Krishi Bank, from the bed of the Sangu River, near Betchhara Army camp, on Thursday afternoon.

The family members identified his body at around 2.00am.

Boangchhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Omar Ali said the body was recovered in the evening on the basis of information given by local people. Later, relatives of missing people were informed to identify the body. At night, family members including Goutam Nandi's son Turzo Nandi and brother-in-law Diganta Nandi identified the body.
