Prime suspect held over burning Gaibandha school

Gaibandha Correspondent: Police have arrested Ronju Mia, 32, prime suspect in a case filed over setting a girls’ school on fire at Kunderpara in Gaibandha early Friday.

Ronju was arrested from his residence at Pardiara village of the Kunderpara upazila on Sunday afternoon.

Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AKM Mehedi Hasan said on secret information, Ronju Mia has been arrested as the prime suspect in the case filed over setting a Gaibandha school on fire.

Miscreants set fire to ‘Gono Unnayan Academy High School’, located in the remote char area, in the dead of night, that gutted classrooms and office room of the school and valuables.

Seeing the flame, local people rushed in and tried to douse the fire but failed.
