Bus kills mother, two children in Tangail

Staff Correspondent, Tangail: A woman accompanied by her son and daughter have been killed as a bus ran over them at the district's Mirzapur upazila.

The incident happened at Mahera Police Training area on Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu bridge highway on Wednesday noon.

The deceased were identified as Fahima Begum, 35, wife of Tara Mia of Nallaparha under Delduar upazila, her daughter Tarina Akter, 14, and her son Tanvir Hossain, 10.

Motaleb Hossain, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Gorai Highway Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said a Siranjganj-bound bus (Sirajganj-JA-04-0029) from Dhaka ran over them when they were heading to Mahera Jamindar Bari for entertainment on the occasion of Eid, leaving them dead on the spot.

Being informed, police rushed the spot and recovered the bodies. Law enforcers also seized the bus along with its helper, he added.

The bodies were handed over to the family after legal procedures, he said.
