Bus-truck collision kills 7 in Gopalganj

Gopalganj Correspondent: At least seven people were killed and 20 others were injured in a head on collision between a bus and a truck at Bedgram area on Dhaka-Khulna highway of the district town on Friday night.

All the victims were rushed to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital.

Md Selim Reza, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said a Pirojpur bound Dola Pariban bus from Dhaka collided with an opposite head wood laden truck, leaving one dead on the spot. 

Five others died on way to the hospital. A child succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment in the hospital, he added.

The casualties could not be identified immediately. They might have been from different areas of Pirojpur and Gopalganj.
